20 years of S&K Solutions – Our journey from maps to robotics

Our story began 20 years ago – with an idea, a lot of courage and a small office in Fürstenstein. What started with four employees, a handful of card printers and a clear vision is now an international company with almost 70 colleagues, an annual turnover of over 11.5 million euros and customers throughout Europe.

How it all began

In August 2005, our founders Siska and Karl-August Thiele returned to Germany after five years in Asia, bringing with them their first experiences in the card industry, a valuable network of manufacturers and a large dose of entrepreneurial spirit. Under the newly founded brand All About Cards, we developed tailor-made solutions for all types of card applications – from employee ID cards to customer and gift cards to event accreditations. Renowned companies such as Amazon, Zalando, BMW Group and EDEKA quickly became our customers.

Our milestones

• 2005: Founded in Fürstenstein, first brand All About Cards
• 2010: Move to Passau and expansion of warehouse and office space
• 2013: Launch of auto-iD 24/7 – automation solutions, hardware and web shop for retail, industry and public authorities
• 2017: Introduction of e-shelf-labels – electronic price tags and digital process optimisation, combined with international expansion
• 2024: Foundation of log-robot – mobile autonomous robotics solutions for transport and cleaning processes
• 2025: Over €11.5 million in turnover, almost 70 employees, sales units in several European countries and major international projects

From the shop counter to the digital world

With auto-iD 24/7, we opened up new markets and technologies in 2013. Our web shop proved to be a decisive factor in our success, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, enabling us to supply customers quickly and reliably. In 2017, we took the next step towards digitalisation with e-shelf-labels – a brand that now implements projects across Europe, such as the rollout of 1,000 stores for Dr. Max, Europe's largest pharmacy chain.

From the outset, we have relied on partnerships with market-leading manufacturers such as VusionGroup and Solum, while at the same time expanding our presence beyond our previous focus market of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today, we serve customers not only in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also through our own sales units in Hungary, the Czech Republic/Slovakia, Poland and the Benelux region.

In 2024, the next logical step followed: automation with robotics. With log-robot, we now bring world-leading manufacturers of mobile autonomous robots to our customers – from autonomous goods transport to industrial cleaning.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary in Passau with our team in glorious weather – a special moment to look back on our journey together, share stories, laugh and enjoy what we have achieved in two decades as S&K Solutions.

The next few years will be exciting – with even more digitalisation, internationalisation and intelligent automation solutions. We want to continue growing, conquer new markets and turn innovative ideas into reality. Because one thing has not changed in the last 20 years: our commitment to always finding the best solution – for our customers, our team and our shared future.
